1. Telemedicine Is Not a Substitute for In-Person Care
TeleMed provides video consultations as a convenient and supplementary option. It is not intended to replace in-person physical examinations, emergency care, hospital visits for serious conditions, or specialist referrals when face-to-face evaluation is medically necessary.
2. When to Seek Emergency Care
Call emergency services or go to the nearest hospital if you experience: chest pain, difficulty breathing, severe bleeding, signs of stroke, sudden severe headache, unconsciousness, severe allergic reactions, suicidal thoughts, severe injuries, or any life-threatening condition.
Emergency numbers in Benin:
- SAMU (Emergency): 117
- Police: 117
- Fire: 118
3. Limitations of Telemedicine
Some conditions cannot be accurately diagnosed without a physical examination. Not all medications can be prescribed via telemedicine. Video quality and connectivity may affect consultations. You are responsible for ensuring your environment is private during consultations.
4. No Guarantee of Outcomes
TeleMed does not guarantee that consultations will result in a specific diagnosis, treatment, or outcome. Medical care involves inherent risks.
